Ball Python morphs

Python regius

About 7,600 morphs, counting combinations of genes, have been named. The list below is a selection of well-known single-gene morphs. It is not a complete list, there may be many more, and no authoritative registry of morphs exists. Years and first producers are from the World of Ball Pythons morph database, and each name links to its entry there. A morph is shown with a photo only when a freely licensed photo is available.

Recessive: shows only with two copies of the gene. Incomplete dominant (also called co-dominant): one copy gives a visible look, and two copies look different again. Dominant: one copy is enough. See how morphs are inherited and the health concerns linked to some morphs.
